The Mayor of Great Aycliffe, Councillor Wendy Hillary, held a Charity Cabaret Evening in the Royal British Legion Club on Thursday, 9th October 2014 to help raise funds for her nominated charities during her year in office.
Councillor Mrs. Hillary has jointly nominated Durham County School Benevolent Fund and Cruse Bereavement Care as her charities.
The evening was a huge success with an amount of £482 being raised from the raffle, bingo and donations.
Councillor Mrs. Hillary would like to thank everyone who supported this event by attending or donating to the raffle.  A special thanks must go to the Cabaret Artistes, ‘Drew’ and ‘Samantha Mac’ for their excellent performances.
Our thanks to the Royal British Legion for allowing us the use of their premises and to the Committee Members for helping with the event.   As usual the pie and peas supplied by Amanda from the Legion kitchen were delicious.  Once again, thank you to everyone who supported the event and made it such a huge success.
