Our Town Mayor, Wendy Hillary, held her “At Home” Afternoon Tea in the Council Offices last Saturday offering sandwiches, cakes and cream scones with tea or coffee to those who accepted the invitation. Civic Dignitaries from other councils were in attendance and everyone bought lots of raffle tickets in aid of the Mayor’s chosen charity during her year of office – The MRI Scanners Appeal for Darlington and Bishop Auckland Hospitals. The total raised at the event was around £400. The Mayor’s husband is selling Cake Tiers he has made in aid of the appeal at just £5 each. If you want one please contact the Town Council on 300700
