L to R, Mrs Ruth Lee, Anne Dobson, The Mayor, Lissa Gibbons (Vicar) & Mrs Val Curry
The Mayor of Darlington, Councillor Gerald Lee and his Mayoress, Mrs Ruth Lee officially opened St Michael’s, Heighington, Christmas Fair, held in the Village Hall last Saturday.
Paying a surprise appearance was Santa Claus himself, who handed out presents to local children in his grotto. The Fair proved a huge success and raised over £2000 for Church funds. Throughout the day food was prepared and served up by the Church Ladies Working Party.
The mild weather brought many into the popular Village Hall where they found many craft, cake and jewellery stalls. A huge Christmas hamper was the main raffle prize. The Mayor and Mayoress would like to thank everyone who helped make the Fair a roaring success!
