Joanne Baker, together with friend Alison Headley, organised an 18th birthday party with a difference for Joanne’s daughter at The Belvedere Club in Bishop Auckland. The Northern Boys provided the entertainment and the £172 raised was donated to the Bishop Auckland Fundraising group of Marie Curie. A Marie Curie spokesperson commented how thoughtful it was for such a young person to think about supporting a worthy cause and that all monies raised would be used to provide care for the terminally ill within their own homes in the Bishop Auckland area.
