Crafty kids can learn how to make a peg doll and create their own proggy mat next week. The DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery is holding a series of free half term Make Do and Mend craft sessions.
During the Second World War, families had to make toys out of any materials they could find. Inspired by the creative wartime spirit, the DLI is inviting children and their families to try making peg dolls, proggy mats and bunting and learn how to use knitted dollies.
The free drop-in sessions run from 10am to 4pm from Monday, 17 to Sunday, 23 February. Normal museum admission charges apply. For more information, call 03000 266 590, dli@durham.gov.uk or visit www.dlidurham.org.uk
