A diagnosis of cancer can affect families in many different ways. Having access to the right information, emotional and practical support can help at a difficult time in your life.
At the Cancer Information and Support Centres in Newton Aycliffe we provide this support to anyone affected by cancer.
Our services include:
• Information and emotional support from a dedicated experienced team of staff and volunteers
• Benefits advice provided by a Welfare Rights Officer
• Jessica’s Headwear for clients who have suffered hair loss through cancer treatment.
• A specialist bra fitting service for ladies affected by breast cancer (by appointment)
• A monthly breast cancer support group
• De-stress and relaxation sessions to learn how to deal with stress and how to relax.
• Bereavement counselling (by appointment)
• A library of books and DVDs, along with internet access
• Other information about services that maybe helpful to you
Some services are only available at our Information Centre in Peterlee (Castledene Shopping Centre, above Boots)
