Dear Editor.
I want to say how overwhelmed I was on Friday night at the Big Club. the entertainment was top class! The event was run by Newton Aycliffe Rotary Club with all proceeds going to the MRI Scanner Appeal for Darlington and Bishop Auckland.
I understand that The Big Club donated the room free of charge and the entertainment gave their time and talent free too. Gary Hepple and his staff were on the go all evening.
As usual the number of raffle prizes was vast as was the tombola stall. We came home laden with tombola prizes.
It is so good to see that in the middle of Newton Aycliffe we see a people who are generous to a fault. I have to say, as Secretary of Great Aycliffe Community Aid Partnership (GACAP), I frequently see Newtonians (and incomers) giving and giving in an area of our country that is far from affluent.
My husband Ron, Chairman of GACAP, along with myself honour all those people who give, for the benefit of people or organisations who are raising money for causes that are close to the hearts of so many people. Keep up the good work Syd Howarth and the Rotary Club.
