The Aycliffe and District Bus Preservation Society held its AGM at Locomotion Shildon which was well attended by members and friends of the Society.
The President of the Society and former resident of Newton Aycliffe, John Gibson, gave an upbeat report on the activities of the Society during 2015 and in particular the current restoration project that of the 1940 Ex United tow truck presently in the Society’s workshop. In 2015 volunteers spent in the region of 1400 hours working on this unique local vehicle.
John Gibson, an accomplished amateur photographer and artist of the buses of yesteryear, presented framed pictures of north eastern scenes, to the outgoing Society Treasurer and Auditor in recognition of their service to the Society over the last 12 years.
