Transport compliance and training company, Logico, are delighted to have reached the national finals of the ‘Business Fives’ football tournament whilst raising funds for a national baby loss charity.
The Logico team, who progressed after winning the Europa League on March the 16th, are raising vital funds for Aching Arms, while also promoting awareness of the much needed support the charity provides to bereaved parents, whether that is during pregnancy, at birth or soon after. They were named not only winners on the day but also top fundraisers, which meant an extra £250 for the charity.
Logico, who have recently moved to larger premises on Aycliffe Business Park, are a passionate supporter of their local community and regularly take part in fundraising activities within the area and jumped at the chance to take part in the football match.
Their chosen charity, Aching Arms, not only provide support to bereaved parents but also work with hospitals, hospices, midwives and nurses throughout the UK, as well as the comforting teddy bears they provide, they also offer support via their telephone and email service which is run by bereaved parents. The service offers families the chance to talk to someone who understands what they’re going through and helps them feel they’re not alone.
It’s a cause that is very close to the heart of Logico’s Commercial Director, Stephen Gosnay. Following multiple pregnancy losses, Stephen and his wife reached out to Aching Arms and received support and a beautiful teddy bear in recognition of their losses.
Stephen was delighted the team decided to take part in the match, commenting, “The support my family received from the charity was invaluable to us and gave us immense strength when we needed it the most. As something that is very personal to me, it was great to see my colleagues jump at the chance to highlight the work of the charity and fundraise at the same time. It’s bringing our staff together as a great teambuilding exercise while also helping the charity immensely. We’ve been going through lots of training and there’s been a few aches and pains in the office but it’s all been worth it, we’re looking forward to attending the national finals and hopefully lifting the trophy!”
