McColl’s have made a donation of £150 to Newton Aycliffe FC to help carry out essential repairs at Moore Lane Park. The store group makes grants to good causes through its “Making a Difference Locally” initiative.
The football club are the first recipient linked to the Simpasture Gate store, whose manager Simon Cortez handed over the cheque at the recent FA Cup match against North Ferriby to Aycliffe defender Dan Mitton.
Simon explained that the money for the initiative was raised by the sale of certain products across the McColls / Nisa network. Any local groups interested in applying for a grant are encouraged to enquire in store.
