Two senior citizens living in the town hired a gardener to carry out work at the back and front of their property. He completed the front garden but failed to return to do the back despite being paid in advance.
They know how silly they were to pay up front, but decided to report the matter to the Police who called to interview them. The policemen were shocked by the incident and reassured the couple it would receive their attention.
To their surprise the policemen returned with bushes and flowers donated by local businesses and proceeded to plant them in their garden after first tidying up the mess.
“We have heard about neighbourhood support by the Police but this we believe could be termed above and beyond the call of duty” said the grateful husband.
They would like to record their thanks to PC Mike Welch, PCSO Steven Gill. PC Becky Ruck and PCP Liz Godfrey together with Windlestone Garden Centre, Julie’s Pets, and S&R Landscapes.
