The Herbal Gin Company is now producing the first four of its artisan range of gins. Its local owners, Dr Colin Scott and Mr Wayne Richardson have a passion for making delicious gins that are unique in taste and appearance. Both have an interest in the science of gin making and especially the botanicals involved, which has led to a worldwide contribution to its recipes.
In this current climate of severe restrictions this is a story of two people launching a new business against the tide of difficulties that we are currently witnessing. Conventions are being broken, the directors in their own fields were used to the handling of pressure but are now applying these hard earned skills to start up a new and exciting local business against the tide of COVID related restrictions and limiting factors.
Although currently facing supply issues- which has reduced the launch product range, the four gins being marketed currently have been enthusiastically received by the vanguard of gin lovers who have made the first purchases. The original herbal gin recipe has been balanced by a spiced gin which is oriental in flavour. These first two were then bolstered by Meditteranean Lemon and Herbal Lime flavours that are both proving particularly popular since release.
Botanicals as diverse as eucalyptus and lemongrass are being used in a novel approach to gin making and help to create a flavour that is both unique but lasts a lot longer on the tastebuds than many. This is backed up by a quadruple distilled process that is digitally controlled to allow for the smoothest of products with a mellowness that is felt to rival the best in the business and allows for a product that can be reproduced time and time again.
More exciting flavours are in the pipeline. Raspberry and vanilla along with smoked orange and also rhubarb and ginger with a hint of chilli.
