Local artist, Joanna Boultwood from Newton Aycliffe, originally from North Yorkshire, was last week featured in the national Daily Mirror newspaper, showcasing one of her art works of a beautiful “Hare in Meadow”. This piece was created in acrylic and pastel, one of the mixed mediums Joanna uses to create her work.
As the article stated Joanna found art again after becoming ill and suffers from chronic arthritis, art helps take her mind away from the days the pain is greater.
Joanna lives on the town and mainly draws wildlife and people’s pets as gifts and memorial pieces for keepsakes through her small business JLB-Arts.
Joanna entered the Daily Mirror showcase and it was a huge honour to be featured, my husband and children are very proud of me.
My work is so popular that I am almost fully booked for this year and I am taking bookings for next year already.
