Housing and communities business livin has awarded a £110 million contract set to revolutionise the way its homes are maintained and repaired. Mears Group has been awarded the initial 7 year contract to provide repair and maintenance, gas serving, planned works with aids and adaptations to livin’s 8,500 properties across the County. Preparation for the contract commencement has been ongoing for some weeks, involving full co-location of 32 Mears staff now based at livin’s headquarters in Spennymoor. Colin Steel, chief executive for livin said: ‘These are exciting new times for livin. Working in partnership with Mears we are transforming service delivery through technology, offering improved access to our services at times convenient to our customers.
