Over 90 staff from two partner organisations went head-to-head in a charity fundraising event to raise money for the Foundation of Light and The Bradley Lowery Fight Against Neuroblastoma.
The charity challenge organised by homes and communities organisation Livin pitched its staff against those from its repairs and maintenance partner Mears Group in a funfair themed event with games including giant darts, football pool and beat the buzzer in a bid to win the charity challenge cup.
Over £3,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of staff who paid to take part in the events and took part in silent auctions and raffles thanks to a range of prizes donated by suppliers including; the Mears Foundation Deerness, Sykes, ORS, Kerrison, Pinkneys, and Sherwoods. Mears was crowned the overall winner and following the success of the event Livin matched the fundraising total meaning both charities each received cheques in excess of £3,000.
Alan Boddy, Operations Director said: “This is our most successful fundraising event to date. Our partnership with the Foundation of Light spans a number of years and they support us to deliver much needed support to families living in our communities.
“The Bradley Lowery Foundation is another great local charity that is supported by our staff. We are delighted with the amount raised. So much so that we are making this an annual event.”
