Greenfield Community College are pleased to have played host to two live performances recently which have been funded by Durham County Council. As a specialist Arts College it is great to have the opportunity for our students to see a variety of fantastic live performances dealing with issues that are relevant to them. These are just two of the more than ten live performances have hosted since the beginning of the year, and many more have been planned for the coming months.

Last week Tiny Giants Theatre Company performed “New Wheels” a show designed to deliver road safety measures to the Year 11 students, in an engaging and memorable way. The performance was very well delivered and well received by the students who seemed to take the message seriously commenting that the performance was “funny yet had a powerful message.”

On Tuesday 19th March Enact Theatre performed “Destination Success,” which was designed to inspire the year 10 pupils to see the benefits of Raising the Participation Age, switching them on to learning, raising their aspirations and inspiring them towards a successful destination in life.

The year 10 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the performance and left feeling inspired, one pupil said “It make me think about my future.”

Many thanks to both theatre companies for their fantastic performances.
