On Sunday morning’s Around Town Radio Show on Aycliffe Radio we had the pleasure of welcoming Sam and Hayley from LittleSendsations to discuss, amongst other things, their recent award for the fantastic work their SEND support group does in the region.
We discussed the work they have been doing with the NHS and raising paramedics awareness of the challenges faced by medical personnel when responding to emergencies involving SEND children and young people.
Their ‘donate a pound’ project is slowly gathering momentum, as people in our community begin to realise, collectively, such a small amount can make such a big difference when like minded people come together to support one another.
Following a discussion Phill, who is a published author of a number of books, has agreed to work with Hayley, Sam, the SEND team and local illustrator Dan Walls to document the LittleSendsations story and bring it to life in book form. The introduction to ‘The LittleSendsations Story’ has already taken shape, and now it’s just a matter of slowly bringing together their story of many voices.
