Little Treasures Autism Group have extended their services around Co. Durham, they currently hold 14 support groups in the county catering for all children with autism and children under a professional team awaiting an ASD assessment.
They also have two young carers groups at Ferryhill and newton Aycliffe, these sessions are for any child who has a caring role for a sibling or parent. All sessions are ‘drop ins’, so no need to book.
Venue for Ferryhill group is Dean Bank Institute, St Cuthbert Terrace, Ferryhill DL17 8PP. This venue offers: Stay and play sessions for ages 2-16 years, £3 per family on the 4th Saturday of the month; 10.30-12 teen sessions for ages 9-16 years, £2 per teen on the 2nd Thursday of the month; 5-7pm young carers aged 5 years+, £2 per child +1 carer held on the 1st Saturday of the month 10-12 noon.
Venue for the Spennymoor group is Middlestone Moor Community Centre, Spennymoor, DL16 7AP. This venue offers teen groups aged 9-16 years on the 4th Wednesday of the month 5-7pm.
Newton Aycliffe young carers group is the 2nd Saturday of the month 1-3pm at St Claire’s Church, St Cuthberts Way, Newton Aycliffe DL5 5NT.
