Lifeline Community Action has been a partner organisation in the Great Aycliffe Community Action Partnership (GACAP) since it was formed almost 3 years ago. The number of partners continues to grow and good work in the community happens every day. Baby Basics provides practical support to families with children under 5, particularly those with new babies and for the most part are able to provide families with what they need. However, on occasion additional support may be needed beyond the constraints of the Baby Basics Project and as a result of the GACAP database and networking opportunities at its monthly meetings, Baby Basics Volunteer Manager, Sheena Stephenson has linked up with Geoff Batchelor from the Rotary Club who have stepped in and provided the help needed. Three families received support as a result of this GACAP partnership working together and those families were relieved to receive all the support they needed at such a difficult time. Sheena told us that similar partnership support for a further four families has been achieved as a result of working with another GACAP partner, XCEL Church, with similar excellent results for the people involved. Sheena said that as individual organisations we can do a good job. but by working together we can do it even better.
