Life Church is set to run a free club to help people in Newton Aycliffe get back into work.
Members of Life Church in Newton Aycliffe wanted to help equip their local community to find employment in tough economic times so underwent specialised training from UK charity Christians Against Poverty.
Now they are offering a free eight week course to boost the job-hunting process for unemployed people by equipping them with the tools, skills and confidence to find work.
Job Club Manager Deborah Taylor-Smith, who will be leading the course, said: “With more people facing long-term employment, there is a real need for a personal service which provides practical and emotional support for people to find work again. CAP Job Club is designed to do just this.”
Life Church is one of more than 50 churches of different Christian traditions across the UK who will be running a CAP Job Club, as they work together to positively impact the communities around them.
The CAP Job Club will be run as an eight week course covering topics such as identifying strengths, CV writing and interview techniques.
Deborah added: “We hope that we can help people to gain the confidence and skills they need to find employment, particularly for those who may have been out of work for a long period of time. ”
The club will run for eight weeks weekly starting Tuesday 10th September at 10am in the Art Space Greenfield School, Greenfield Way, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham DL5 7LF. To find out more about CAP Job Clubs or to book your place tel Deborah 07593 585082
