It was “snow” problem for Husqvarna in Newton Aycliffe to make a donation to one of the town’s charities – and ROCSOLID young people are hoping for plenty of the white fluffy stuff so they can see the gift in action.
ROCSOLID accommodates vulnerable young people, including young parents and babies. “Our drive at Hope House in Burnhope is on an incline and we’ve really struggled over the past few winters,” said director Derek Butler.
“Husqvarna heard of our plight through a mutual contact at South Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Forum and they decided to donate a new snow blower to us. We were amazed at their generosity!”
The ROCSOLID flats are part of the Reach Out Care fostering and support services. Other regular visitors include children with complex needs and foster carers and young people.
“When we heard about the work of the charity we wanted to help in a practical way,” said Caraline Robinson, operations director at Husqvarna. “We’re a major employer in the area and we take an interest in things going on in the wider community.”
