As part of her #TourGB Labour Leadership hopeful Liz Kendall came to Newton Aycliffe last Friday to put her vision for the future of the party to members and supporters. Held at Newton Aycliffe WMC ‘The Big Club’ the event was well attended and attracted people from across the region, including other local constituencies of Durham and Bishop Auckland.
During the evening Ms Kendall spoke passionately about the importance of Education, and gave a special emphasis on the importance of the early years.
One of the main causes Ms Kendall has been building her campaign around is ending inequalities which occur before children have even started school, and which often affect the rest of their lives. The Sedgefield Constituency is supporting Liz Kendall having nominated her for the leadership.
