Dear Sir,
I cannot let Counc. Crosby have the last word on the West Ward Councillor Selection when the information in his letter was incorrect.
The block of votes from one family was six: man, wife, three daughters and the Mother in Law. Where few members attend this gave them a huge advantage.
Counc Crosby said you must not fall out with anybody if you want to be re-selected. What a bad policy where popularity and experience counts for nothing. There are many voters who don’t agree with this process and call it a disgrace.
Others are not renewing their membership and complain of lack of communication from Labour and an arrogance which will damage their image. Voters must ralise they will be voting for a candidate selected mainly by one man backed by his family.
Counc Crosby says no one else is complaining about the system, but the West Ward is the only branch to throw out two sitting Councillors, completely against public opinion.
Mr. Marshall
