On Thursday 27th June 2013 Newton Aycliffe Junior Football Club played their last game at Woodham Academy. Next Seasons under 9’s, managed by Craig Turnbull took on a team from Byers Green.
Both teams were eager to play this out of season match, as the teams warmed up the sun broke through for a perfect game of football. Both teams played excellent football throughout the game. The evening finished with a penalty shoot-out. We would like to wish Byers Green, Spennymoor, good luck for the forthcoming season.
We would like to thank Brett for being our referee for the evening and all our parents and supporters who came along to support both teams.
A huge thank you to Woodham Academy who for a number of seasons have allowed us to use their indoor training and pitches for home games. A special thank you to Assistant Head Teacher Danny Morgan and Community Coordinator Marie Oswald for their invaluable support throughout our time at Woodham Academy.
Newton Aycliffe Junior Football Club has now moved to Sunnydale Leisure Centre in Shildon with age groups starting from development right through to Under 21’s.
