Ladies across the region are being encouraged to take part in an upcoming Run in the Park. Organised by Durham County Council, the fun run celebrates ladies sport and physical activity, and is open to all women aged 16 and over.
Competitors can choose to run 1k, 3k or 5k on a course that loops Hardwick Park, with a medal being given to every runner who completes it.
Helen Tones, sport and physical activities development officer, said: “This event is one of many activities we co-ordinate across the county to encourage women and girls to take part in regular exercise, and we hope to see a fantastic turn out.
“As well as the many health benefits from participating in the run, this is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Hardwick Park.”
The run will take place at Hardwick Park on Sunday, June 2, at 11am, with registration at 10.00am and warm-up at 10.45am.
Entry is £3.50, discounted to £2.50 if you register early, and all family and friends are welcome to come along and offer support.
The deadline for early entry is 12pm on Friday 17 May, but runners will still be welcome to just arrive on the day.
