I need to respond to Labour’s decision to oust two County Councillors in favour of two unknown candidates. It is shocking news which is being openly discussed all over the town.
The West Ward members have made an idiotic decision and totally miscalculated Enid Paylor’s popularity, handing the Independents a badly needed lifeline on a plate.
Many like me are disgusted and feel Labour has shot itself in the foot and our discontent may spread to other wards.
What will Labour say at the next elections? Do they not realise the damage done? How does Labour’s slogan “getting back to winning ways” work when branch members act against the wishes of the people?
I hope Enid stands as an Independent and wipes the floor with Labour.
