Dear Sir,
Momentum is a fanatical, extreme, left wing political movement whose views are so toxic that it cannot get elected in a democratic country. They ‘invaded’ the Labour Party at national level and got Corbyn elected as Labour leader. Since then they have joined local Labour Constituency Parties and are developing their local powerbase under the guise of being traditionally Labour. One of their tactics is to close down freedom of speech such that those who oppose them cannot ‘call them out’ in the local press.
Cllr. Kathy Beetham is a Momentum supporter and is also fanatically anti-Brexit. We know this because she has berated the Editor for allowing Free Speech, apologised for (but did not publish) a Facebook page which, it seems, was less than complimentary about the local electorate who had voted LEAVE, and in her last week’s letter, she advocates ‘Political Correctness’.
Political correctness ‘went out of the window’ when we got a secret ballot on Brexit and voters got a chance to express their views on all the matters which the establishment and ‘Political Correctness’ had previously dissuaded them from expressing. Prior to the Referendum if you expressed the view that you were not in favour of, say, free movement of people, you were immediately branded a racist by the left wing, politically correct, brigade.
Recently, there has been an upsurge in black on black stabbings in London. The Police are reluctant to re-introduce ‘stop-and-search’ which they had desisted from because they were accused of applying it in a racist manner! I hold the ‘left’ directly responsible for some of the deaths which could have been prevented by stopping and searching those most likely to be armed; black youths!
Due to the lack of condemnation from the local Labour Party of Cllr. Beetham’s unjustified attack on the Editor for allowing Free Speech. I can only conclude that Momentum has gained the ‘upper hand’ and that locally the party should be properly called ’Momentum/Labour’.
Phil Wilson, who is our elected LABOUR MP, has recently spoken out against Labour leader Corbyn and the anti-Semitism in Momentum /Labour at a national level. Has he as good as resigned? Or will his Constituency Labour Party support him? What happens will show the electorate how well established the Momentum parasite is in the Labour Party locally. If Phil Wilson resigns (or is deselected) then Labour Central Office may direct that the candidate list should be ‘all female’, in which case, Cllr. Kathy Beetham could be in poll position. Cllr. J.D. Clare would then have to ‘self-identify’ as female in order to oppose her selection!
Cllr. Beetham says that hate crime has increased in some areas by 40% since the Referendum. I would suggest that the increase coincided the advent of Momentum and the increase in hate crimes against British Jews and, in particular, Jewish Labour MP’s.
Yours sincerely,
Alastair P G Welsh
