Planning Permission is being sought by Jehovah’s Witnesses in Aycliffe for the construction of a new Place of Worship together with car parking and landscaping on the former Police Station site on Central Avenue, next to St. Clare’s Court Care Home.
The members currently occupy Kingdom Hall in Alington Road, Newton Aycliffe, but this early 1970’s building is suffering from the effects of ground subsidence and roof problems. The building has a shortage of car parking, compromised by the building of new housing surrounding the hall. The congregation has decided to re-locate to a more central location where it’s present and future needs can be adequately met.
