Dear Sir,
Sugar Hill staff would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for their amazing support throughout these unprecedented times. With 453 children on roll, aged 3-11, we have had to make many changes in school to ensure staff, children and families stay as safe as possible.
One of the biggest changes has been how the children arrive and leave school. Our staggered morning and afternoon timings have significantly reduced footfall at these very busy times in the school day. We have had lots of positive feedback from parents regarding the new systems we have in place, since school re-opened fully to all children in September.
We know that many parents and carers were anxious when school doors re-opened for their children following such a long time at home. We also recognise how challenging home schooling was throughout this time and are so grateful for all the support with this.
We also want to say a huge thank you to parents and carers for following all government guidance and ensuring, as family units, they have kept children at home, if family members and close contacts have tested positive for Covid-19. Another huge thank you to all families that have been affected and acted in a way to keep everyone in our school community as safe as possible.
It has been a year like no other for all staff working in school. In the mix of dealing with a worldwide pandemic, we were absolutely delighted when the workmen still arrived this term to improve our school environment with our state of the art windows! They too have followed all our safety guidance to keep everyone safe and deserve a huge thank you.
Although we cannot go ahead with parents and carers coming into school for Christmas events in December, rest assured Sugar Hill children will have an amazing ‘Countdown to Christmas’ in school from week beginning 30th November.
