A local lady, Linda Lyons, who had lived in the town many years before moving to Bishop Auckland, has opened a new shop in Newton Aycliffe town centre called “Jorja’s Attic.
The shop, which is located near to Greggs, is named after Linda’s granddaughter and sells shabby chic furniture, handmade gifts, seasonal decorations and much more.
Linda has always been a crafter and sold her products at craft fairs, but always had a desire to have her own shop, she had a pop up shop last Christmas in Bishop Auckland, which was so successful it gave her the confidence to open a shop on a long term basis. After many moths of searching and with help from the town centre manager, she feels she has found the perfect location.
Since the shop opened three weeks ago, Linda has received very positive feedback from everyone who has visited, stating “It’s about time the town centre had a shop where you can buy unique individual items and more independent traders are needed in the town centre”.
Linda is renewing stock every week and as Christmas is fast approaching, she is offering a gift wrapping service as well as gifts and decorations with prices that will suit everyone’s budget.
Linda would like to thank family and friends that have helped her achieve her ambition and looks forward to welcoming new and old customers.
