Students from Teikyo University of Japan in Durham visited Walworth Special School in Newton Aycliffe.
Pupils explored Japanese culture through a series of workshops including calligraphy, origami, Japanese lessons and dressing up in yukatas/hapi jackets. There was even time for both staff and pupils to learn a traditional japanese dance.
All pupils the agreed it was a fantastic evening learning all about a new and exciting country.
