Jake Mendelsohn (15) from Woodham Academy and Isaac Mendelsohn (10) from Byerley Park Primary School both ran in Great North Run events last Saturday. Isaac took part in the junior 4k race and finished in a time of just over 27 minutes. This was a real achievement for Isaac as he has not really done a lot of running before and it was his first big event. Jake did the 5k race in a time of just over 20 minutes and came 35th out of around 1400 runners, again a great achievement as he hasn’t done any running for a while.
Both boys were raising money for Brain Tumour Research and Alzheimer’s and would like to thank everyone who has supported them. Money is still coming in but it looks like they will have raised around £600.
