Jack’s, an established driving school based in Newton Aycliffe, has several instructors working throughout County Durham. Over the past 5 years Jack’s has been delivering projects working with several schools and the youth centre to help educate young people in road safety, general vehicle maintenance and their responsibilities as a passenger.
The largest cause of death in young people aged between 17 and 24 is road traffic accidents. Jack’s Driving School’s aim is to educate young people to help reduce this risk. From the experience gained in the working with schools’ projects, Jack and his team recognise that young people are more receptive to safety issues and are very keen to develop their knowledge.
As a result, Jack’s are now offering a driving course for non-licence holders aged from 14 years in a safe off-road environment. The 5 hour course made up of 3 sessions is competitively priced at £150, currently reduced to £120, gift vouchers are available. The course is based around normal driving lessons but with more emphasis on passenger’s responsibility, behaviour and additionally vehicle maintenance.
Is a young member of your family aged from 14 and going out with friends who drive? Have they got the confidence to ask an older driver to stop using their mobile, slow down or just stop showing off and messing around while driving? This might just be the course for them and might save them from being involved in an accident.
Jack’s Driving School aims to:
• Give young people a good fun experience while helping them to prepare for their first driving lesson on public roads
• Assist with the theory test
• Educate their responsibilities as a passenger and driver with emphasis on behaviour
• Provide an introduction to vehicle maintenance
• Reduce the accident rate involving young people and to make our roads a safer place
• Make young drivers’ safer drivers
