Dave Barron’s wife and family
After a very successful year many of the members enjoyed the Presentation Night held at the Navy Club. Special guests for the evening were the wife and family of Dave Barron who sadly passed away during the year.
Dave was a long standing and highly respected member of the Club and will be greatly missed. A trophy – The Dave Barron Memorial Trophy – has been provided from donations from Club members and was awarded to the winner of a new annual Open Singles competition created in his memory. The inaugural winner was Dave McDonald.
A buffet was enjoyed after the prize-giving, provided by members, together with games of bingo and raffle. The evening was rounded of by a fabulous act, Jeff Wright, who kept everyone entertained with his comedy and singing, ensuring that the dance floor was kept very busy.
The summer season is continuing with the on-going summer leagues and a £1 drop in session at the Oak Leaf Leisure Centre at 6.30pm on a Wednesday for anyone interested in trying their hand at bowling, no equipment necessary!
The Club looks forward to another successful year and welcoming new members.
