Dear Sir,
I wanted to acknowledge and say many thanks to the writer of the letter ‘What a Stench’, 03/11/23, for actually using the details I had recently provided in the Newton News and complaining to the relevant authorities. I have said in previous letters, over the last two years, that we MUST do more than just write to the Newton News regarding the stench coming from Emerald Biogas (Warrens Group) on the Business Park. I am hopeful, after reading the aforementioned letter, that everyone who is affected by this issue are also reporting the issue to the relevant authorities.
Despite promises from Emerald Biogas (Warrens Group), the smell just keeps on coming and it gets no less offensive. We need to maintain the pressure on those who have the ‘clout’ to act on our reporting, in the hope they will work with us in achieving a better smelling environment for Aycliffe people to live in.
If we don’t act no-one will do it for us so, ‘If You Smell It, Please Report It’. It is quick and easy to send an email or make a phone call, so, once again, here are the details of who to contact as soon as you notice the offensive stench:
Environment Agency 0800 807060
(free call 24 hours a day)
paul.iveson@warrens-group.com
and also our local MP, Paul Howell:
paul.howell.mp@parliament.uk
Thank you
