This week in Class 2, visitors from Durham University came in to teach us about being an explorer. The children spent the afternoon investigating what they would need to take with them if they were to climb Mount Everest, travel into a deep jungle, shoot off in a rocket to space or to climb aboard a pirate ship.
The children then looked into what it would really be like to be an explorer in Antarctica. The children were asked to build a vehicle with Lego, which would take them to Antarctica. It was a fun filled afternoon with lots of interesting facts learnt.
