Dear Sir,
All the political parties are promising affordable mortgages for the first time buyers, during their manifestos.
Instead of bluster and being dictated to by the huge building companies, the next ruling party should ignore threats of job losses and financial losses and refuse most of the future planning permission applications. Unless the application includes a much higher percentage of starter homes.
The housing crisis and rip off rents is due to the fact that planning permission is granted based on a tiny percentage of starter homes or social housing being included in the application.
What is more powerful, business, or local government?
