Horndale Residents Association was formed last month by a group of local people who want to improve the area, covering Horndale, Greenfield and Byerley Park.
The main aim is to provide a MUGA pitch (Multi Use Games Area) as we feel that our youngsters have to walk a distance to use one of the three already in the town and it would provide our youth with a facility to be proud of.
In the New Year we will speak to the young people and set up a youth resident group to get their thoughts and input as we believe it is important to involve them in decision making that affects them.
The Town Council have donated land and ground works required at Horndale Park where the old football changing rooms were. This is a big step towards our aim, and the next thing is to raise approx £65.000. We would welcome any help from companies or individuals to help move this forward. We would like to thank Councillor Dorothy Bowman Pcso Mike Welch, Litza Johnson and the Town Council for their help so far.
Our next meeting is held on the 7th November at the Evangelical Church, Ladybower starting at 6pm with the Pact Meeting first followed by the residents meeting.
Your local councillors have been invited with representatives from the Police and Livin to give reports and the chance for you to ask questions or advice. Guest speakers will be invited to future meetings.
We look forward to seeing you so please come along if you any concerns or problems that affect your area or quality of life. We can’t promise to fix everything but will work with other agencies to do our best to make our estates a better and safer place to live.
