Aycliffe Junior Football Club, Under 16’s team would like to thank the general public of Newton Aycliffe who support Honest John’s market stall.
John has kindly donated proceeds from the stall to purchase a new strip for the 2012/2013 season.
Honest John’s fundraising efforts have become a welcome asset to the town helping clubs and organizations with much needed finance.
Team manager Mr Colin Coulthard said: “The lads were proud to wear the new strip which features a great caricature of Honest John during their opening game of the season against visitors Darlington RA.
John was there to watch the game and was treated to a feast of goals from the U16’s new look team. The final result was 13 – 0 in Aycliffe’s favour which was a tremendous start to the new season.
A huge thanks to the people of Newton Aycliffe once again and of course to our new sponsor Honest John.”
