Newtonian Shaun Gibson, a Lance Corporal in the Army, married Ronja Gazzard who he met during his 3½ years serving with his regiment in Germany.
After a lot of legal wrangles the couple arranged to come back to Newton Aycliffe to marry and tied the knot on Saturday 27th July.
The couple and their guests were piped into St. Clare’s Church by REME Pipe Band member Dave Harper. The Bride was accompanied by her Sister Rebecca and Shaun’s Niece Bethany.
The Best Man was Shaun’s elder Brother Gary.
After the marriage ceremony they left the Church where nine of Shaun’s comrades, who had travelled from Germany, formed a Guard of Honour.
Shaun and Ronja thanks family and friends who helped them celebrate a fabulous day especially to members of Ronja’s family who travelled from Germany for the occasion.
