Hollie’s wish came true recently as ‘Rays of Sunshine’ sent her to Manchester for two days, to be a model with a full photo shoot and hotel stay and she was so excited.
Last year Hollie was accepted by UK Models, but the week before the shoot Hollie required IV’s, which meant we had to cancel. When Hollie’s parents rang the agency and explained that she had Cystic Fibrosis, they refused to accept her. Her parents were shocked and Hollie’s confidence was shattered.
“We are so proud of Hollie, she just needs confidence. She sings, plays ukulele and bass guitar. The school have supported Hollie and given her incredible opportunities to boost her confidence, which she needs. Hollie is an exceptional student who never complains about her pain, she goes to school and gets on with it. Sometimes people forget how Hollie is and how she’s feeling because Cystic Fibrosis is a life-limiting condition with a daily routine which is awful. My wish is for more to be known and people to stop being ignorant to Cystic Fibrosis. We are very proud of Hollie, she’s our Ray of Sunshine who lives life to the full”, said Mother Angie.
