AN HISTORIC Durham city centre building, which can trace its origins to the 1700s, is now available for residential stays.
The former Durham County Club at Old Elvet has undergone a £1.5m refurbishment to transform it into 12 luxury one and two bed apartments, while still retaining many of its original features.
And now the apartments – right in the heart of the city – are available for business guests and long-term visitors to rent through the newly formed Durham Boutique Lettings.
The Grade II listed building, which over the years has seen numerous aristocrats and even HM The Queen entertained there, has been transformed into a modern and stylish residential block but with a distinctly traditional feel.
