On 4th August Aycliffe chairty ‘Helping Hands ‘ team held a Fashion Show at Bethany Centre, Woodham Way. Helping Hands were able to give five free vouchers to those who have been assisted by us in the last 3 months.
Friends from our community volunteered as models for an exclusive showcase of the new clothing, shoes and accessories we had on the evening. Clothes ranged from casual to wedding outfits.
Debbie shared her remarkable story during the show and sang ‘Hero’ by Mariah Carey so beautifully.
There was a free prize draw, which put an extra smile on faces when they found they had won one of the donated gifts.
Event organisers Caroline, Debbie and Kerry said “We’ve been delighted with everyone’s generosity considering the times we’re in. It is amazing. It was a fantastic evening. All the models had such fun. It was such a huge success that we will be having another one at the end of September.”
The Helping Hands project supports families and individuals in crisis where members have lost their jobs, are struggling to pay basic living costs or have other personal circumstances that leave them in need of support.
