Wednesday 10th January saw the members of Heighington Women’s Institute meeting at the Village Hall in Heighington for a meal celebrating our 100th birthday. Ladies first met in Heighington on the 16th January 1918 and we have been going strong since now with over 60 members. A piece of fabric artwork had been created to mark this anniversary by Margot Harryman, from a design by Pat Heseltine in turn from an idea of Val Bedocs. The picture was unveiled by Jessie Craggill who has been a WI member for over 60 years. The Ladies also enjoyed some of the 100 birthday cakes that had been made.
