Under 7s – Heighington faced Barnard Castle this week, Zane was missing but otherwise Heighington had a full squad. Heighington started with Kenzi in goal, Liam & Kyleo at the back, Tyler in a free role and Maddix up top. Heighington took the lead with a wonderful free kick From Kyleo who was absolutely superb throughout. Another long ranger from Kyleo evaded the keeper to make it 2 before he smashed in his hat trick from another free kick. Kenzi was untroubled in the Goal as the boys ahead of him worked tirelessly. HT 3-0
The second half was basically a carbon copy apart from Barney did pull one back with around 10 to go. Alex was introduced to try and see the game out. The game finished 3-1 Heighington
Second game Liam went in goal, Kieran and Alex at the back with Kenzi in a free role and Archie and Kyleo up top. Again very similar to the first game with few chances but Kyleo did open the scoring before Kieran added a 2nd. Second half again very similar, both Goalkeepers relatively quiet and chances few and far between and Heighington won 2-0.
Under 8s – Heighington won their first game of the season Brilliant effort from the whole team. Winning 3-2 against shincliffe juniors reds. Excellent hat trick from Ellis Hendrix, playing out of goal today due to injury. Joshua Hill and Oliver Ward taking turns in goal in his place, great effort from both lads playing in a different position to what theyre used to. Ollie Anderson playing with his usual determined defending, tackling everyone in sight and making some very important clearances, helping protect the stand in keepers. Also a debut to Benjamin Whitting, coming close to a goal with a couple of good efforts. Edward Stokes playing his heart out chasing down every ball and getting closer to that first goal. All players worked hard to get the result. Thank you to all parents and their support on a very cold day.
