Heighington U9’s v Washington United Silver
Eight players available with new signing Isaac playing his first game. They battled well in the first half. It was a very physical game which the boys did well in coping with. Washington not having much of a chance as the defence was playing really well. We hit the post twice and the Washington keeper pulled off an unbelievable save to keep his team in it. Then the sucker punch, they break away and score just before half time.
So, half time 1-0 down. But the lads started the second half like they played the first, on top, Washington couldn’t seem to get into our half. Chance after chance the lads couldn’t seem to score. Then again Washington scored against the run of play to make it 2-0 but, after a really good bit of play, Isaac got his first goal for the team. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the equaliser and it finished 2-1 to Washington. Goal Isaac. Opposition player of the match Isaac. We go again next week, unlucky boys, a game they didn’t deserve to lose.
