Heighington U10s Black
Cole Raine scored in each half as Heighington ushered in the new TJFA Blue season with a 2-1 victory over Billingham Syn at The Fortress.
Heighingtonian international Raine coolly converted a 10 minute bouncer that skimmed off the bowling green surface before Billingham pulled one back 10 minutes into the 2nd half with an excellently taken free kick, but the Blacks withstood a late onslaught and wrapped up the 3 points through battling and determination to secure Raine, Malsbury & Cooper the 2nd successive opening-day victory of their tenure at the club.
United had the defence duo of Kenyon Rose & Adam Brown to thank for keeping them at 1-1 and supported the Blacks to move into 2nd gear as Cooper, Malsbury and Robson all working extremely hard to make the ball stick up top and at 32 minutes Wilko the machine showed great strength to out muscle the Billingham defence to support the drive forward for Raine to take his 2nd goal very well.
2nd Game
Heighington unleashed the goals winning 6-0 and saw all the lads playing in different positions. Some excellently taken goals saw the Blacks punish Synners with Big Al Delderfield taking his opportunity very well.
Heighington AFC White u10s
1st Game
Hartlepool 2 – 6 Heighington.
Heighington Whites only formed 3 months ago and kicked off their first league game together in commanding style.
First goal of the day soon came from great passing which set up Abrams who’s powerful right foot shot gave the keeper no chance. 5mins later Heighington scores again. Bennett-Scott’s shot was superbly saved by the keeper but Cruz Denton was on hand to rifle his shot into the bottom corner.
Hartlepool came back into the game but 3 brilliant saves from Todd kept them out. Right on half time a shot from Hartlepool’s striker evaded Todd and nestled in the net.
The 2nd half started with Heighington on the front foot and 3 quick fire goals from Abrams and 2 from Bennett-Scott had Heighington in control. Hartlepool pulled a goal back with a deflected effort. The final goal of the game came from Bennett-Scott who beat his defender and cool as you like lobbed the keeper for his hat-trick goal and Heighington’s sixth.
2nd Game
Hartlepool 4 – 1 Heighington.
Heighington made numerous changes and played the boys in different positions. Unfortunately the score didn’t go our way but the important thing was they all got plenty game time and they all enjoyed it.
