Harvest Festival celebrates the time of year when crops have been gathered from the field and people can reflect and show gratitude for the food that they have. It dates back a long time in British history, to when people relied on crops for food and farmers would give thanks for a good harvest.
Unfortunately, due the rain we had during the time of Harvest, the staff and children were unable to walk to St. Clare’s church. Instead we were very pleased to welcome Rev. Anne who held our Harvest festival in school. Several children took on the role to read from the Bible to the rest of the school.
They were very brave and did a fantastic job! The children and staff donated food to go towards St. Clares’ food bank for those who need it. Thank you for the kind donations from the children and families at St. Francis’.
