The Harvest celebrations at Sugar Hill Primary School involved everyone! Parents and carers worked alongside children in Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 on a variety of exciting activities such as making Scarecrows, weaving, potato printing, comparing the weights of different vegetables and writing acrostic poems.
Children and parents also prepared, cooked and tasted a delicious ‘Winter Root Vegetable Soup.’ One parent commented, “I have really enjoyed working with my child and his friends. It was a fantastic day for us all.”
The week ended with a ‘Community Afternoon’ which saw a variety of guests invited to the school to be served a steaming bowl of vegetable delight.
The Visitors included, School Governors, Police, Fire fighters and members of the local churches. Beat Police Officer, Alan Thompson said, “The soup was very nice. It warmed me up on this cold Autumn day.”
Staff at Sugar Hill would like to thank all Parents and Carers who joined in with the Harvest celebrations and also those who donated vegetables for this event.
