More than £500 has been raised to help support vulnerable people in Darlington thanks to a police staff member who completed her first 1️10-mile ultramarathon recently.
Hannah Bryan, of Darlington, ran for more than 33 hours in the mentally and physically-demanding Hardmoors 110 event which saw nearly half of the entrants having to retire due to its gruelling nature.
Supported by her family, the senior media advisor ran through the night, navigating the route herself over challenging terrain.
Initially hoping to raise £300, the 33-year-old smashed her target with £530 in sponsorship for the night safety hub, Number Forty, where she volunteers and helps people who become vulnerable on nights out in Darlington.
Opening its doors in September 2022, Number Forty has already proved to be an invaluable service for the town on Friday and Saturday nights, with those who use it ranging from people who have lost their friends and need to charge their phone to giving people who could become victims of crime a safe haven and much-needed help.
And, despite putting her body through the unimaginable, Hannah is back at work and thanked everyone for their support and donations.
